The Story Of Eklavya And Dronacharya

The Story Of Eklavya And Dronacharya

once a boy sacrificed his right hand thumb as a payment to his teacher,
and the boy named eklavya. lets get deep into that story. Once upon a time eklavya came to dronacharya who was the master archer, and he requested him to be his teacher then dronacharya asked are you the prince, or king's son because I only considered them as my student then eklavya replied no I am neither prince, nor king's son. I am just an ordinary boy after knowing about eklavya dronacharya denied to teach him archery although eklavya didn't give up, and went to the forest with his bow, and arrow, and created a statue of his idol dronacharya from rocks, and started practicing archery. One day when eklavya was practicing archery all of the sudden a dog came there, and started growling, so eklavya got disturbed, and shot many arrows inside dog's mouth to dampen the noise, but the way he shot arrows was not hurting that dog when dronacharya saw that dog. He got astonished by the art of archery, and thought I promised Arjuna to be the only great archer of all time. Who also known as heart of the Mahabharata, and one of the pandavas brother by the way dronacharya followed that dog, and found eklavya was practicing archery in the middle of the forest, and he saw his statue. He had never seen the student like eklavya before, and he really wanted to teach eklavya because of his dedication, but he couldn't do it because of his oath to make Arjuna the great archer, so he went to eklavya, and said you have a great skills, and I know you are a good archer, but you created my statue, so technically I am your teacher isn't it, so eklavya replied of course you are my teacher then dronacharya said if I am your teacher then you should have to pay my fee. Eklavya asked tell me how can I pay you teacher dronacharya said I want your right hand thumb as my fee then instantly eklavya picked one of his arrow, and sliced off his right thumb, and gave it to dronacharya though he knew after giving his right thumb he wouldn't able to become a great archer, but still he did it. Mostly folks don't know about eklavya however if he wouldn't have to sacrificed his thumb to dronacharya then he would have also become a great archer like the Arjuna and karna.
